Elizabeth Gutierrez

PIANIST/PEDAGOGUE

Hi, I'm Elizabeth, founder of Piano Teacher Academy. I'm a pianist , composer/arranger, speaker, and piano instructor based in San Antonio, Texas.

I began my career teaching piano, piano pedagogy, and piano literature to undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and later at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Along the way I have given numerous workshops and master classes to working independent teachers around the globe both in person and via livestream on Facebook and Periscope and also as a national clinician for Faber Piano Adventures.

I started Piano Teacher Academy in 2016 as an extension of an annual summer camp for piano teachers - Piano Camp for Piano Teachers. The teachers watching my livestreams that year asked me to make the camp sessions available to them online and thus the first online course "Sorting Out the Piano Classics" was born.

Since then Piano Teacher Academy has expanded to include more virtual summer conferences (held biennially) featuring notable pedagogues from around the world. Other offerings available to you are self-study courses and online tutorials offered by me and the eminent pedagogue, Marvin Blickenstaff.

And there are more Piano Teacher Academy teachers to come!

For my workshops and online courses I draw on my extensive background as an independent teacher, professor, performer, and composer/editor/author. I embrace an engaging, inclusive approach to nurturing the piano teaching community and would love to have you join me soon for a future no-cost webinar. I host webinars every season of the year and often invite composers and creators to join in and share. Come join us! 👇🏼
